How do we find our preferred factories in China?
When You have decided to start with import from China, and are ready to settle some production, there is several advantage by using Your Demand. When we take care of the negotiations with the factory managements, it´s normally so that we actually can do it much cheaper, because we already got the network, people on location, and then in most cases already has made many orders together with these factory´s during the years.
Its possible for anybody to “go by your self” but disadvantage and large risks can be connected by finding cooperative partners and factories on Your own hand. Misunderstandings and failure is just some of the risks if everything is done by mail or telephone. And if You hire a local agent it often is more expensive than we are and often agents are not independent from factor´s.
Import from China – what and how to do?
Many products we see and use I our daily doings is made in China. That is why there is so many possibilities to find one or several products to import.
Some of the most important, when starting to import from China, is to find good and reliable factories. But the most important is to establish tight bands and very close friendship with the Chinese – the is what they expect
And it will pay off. Therefore it can be a good idea, when getting well started, to make a business trip to visit China and see the people and the factory with You own eyes.
A visit in China, you will be able to see:
- If the factory is competent.
- If the factory has a high technical level.
- If the Management follows the International Labor conventions, for an example the ILO International Labor Organization rules.
- If factory is subcontractor to other factories or competitors.
- And you can create and build up the crucial relations and good contacts.

Depending on how long you want to stay and which factories and fairs you want to visit, the cost of a business trip for 8-10 days will be around 20.000 – 25.000 kr. pr. person, incl. flight ticket, hotel, food, visa and travel document etc.
Sometimes we can arrange a trip with 2-3 different no competitive companies, this always will make such trip cheaper and a trip can be done for 15.000 – 20.000 pr. Person.

Import from China
When its decided to start importing from China, there are several things to take into conciderations, and do before starting.
Conditions as we in Your Demand, has as starting point and takes active part in and makes the nessasary follow up at, so that your specific set-up is ready from day one.
– Company registrations, import permissions, must be settled before starting buying.
– Supplyers check in China. We prefer to use our well know and already tested factories.
– Statements of HS codes, international costum clearence codes for export and import.
– Export documents, CO (Certificate of Origin) , BLL (Bill of Lading) , Invoices, Packinglists is statet in China.
– Secure that export cartons is proper marked with shipping marks and in strong condition.
– Freight/Shipping of goods, obtain freightprices and choose the shipping company.
– Hand over of goods, costumclearence for exportfrom China and into EU/Denmark and release of cargo at final
destination against relevante documents.
– That all relevante documents will follow the goods or is send of express when goods are shipped out.
– That confidente documents will not end at Your clients, if deliveries are done directly to your clients.

Tax and Vat on goods from China
When importing goods from China to be sold in Denmark og EU, there is a EU tax and local Vat to be registred and later paid by the importer. Tax and Vat depending on which country goods is bound to and which kind of goods and materials made of. The different HS codes informs local authoritys and you what the percentage of the goods value and the freight cost is. It is often difficult to get a clear wiev of these costum- and import duty´s exactly is.

Chinese Business Culture
Unless you speak Chinese, it’s recommendable to hire a translator, when meeting with Chinese companies and factory´s, it´s a very important issue.
Many older Chinese people don’t speak or understand English, therefore it´s a good idea with an independent translator. Many of the new generations of business people easily speak, write and understand our continental English language.
We do have, both in Denmark and in China, affiliated cooperative partners who speak both Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese, and also speaks fluent Danish and English
